Hi, I’m Jane
I’m a mum and a teacher, and All The Things associated with having a kid who is an athlete. I’m his social media manager, photographer, instructional coach, masseuse, mindset motivator, training organiser, and biggest cheerleader.
This blog is our real-life ride behind the rope.
Our son Charles is a competitive wakeboarder who’s already achieved back-to-back World Titles by the age of 11. Behind his achievements are early mornings, long drives, balancing school requirements, training sessions, family teamwork, and a whole lot of sacrifice.
We didn’t know much about wakeboarding when we started or what was involved in supporting a junior athlete, but we have learned many lessons along the way.
We created My Kid Is An Athlete to share our journey — the wakeboarding, the travel, the lessons, and the lifestyle that comes along with raising a junior athlete.
What You’ll Find Here

Gear: What we actually use, wear, and pack (plus affiliate links to our trusted brands)
Whether you're a sport parent yourself, part of a wake-loving family, or just curious about what it’s like to raise a young athlete — welcome.
